Community Walk Success and Fun for All

Lehigh Parkway Elementary faculty and staff participated in their second annual “Community Walk” on September 20 to kick off the start of another school year.

Lehigh Parkway has a great partnership with our families, but we always strive to make the bonds between our school and our families even stronger. During this event the Parkway staff provided information to parents about Literacy Strategies to practice at home, Sapphire Community Portal Instructions and details about Lehigh Parkway being a Leader in Me School.

The highlight of this year’s event was the distribution of over 120 backpacks filled with school supplies to our Parkway students in their neighborhoods!! This extra special endeavor was made possible by the generosity of one of our families and their company. Serenity Dutch-Martinez’ father, Jason Dutch, worked to coordinate the amazing gesture. His company, TCC (The Cellular Connection) provided the backpacks to our school in conjunction with their “Culture of Good” program.

We are very grateful for their help and support of our students and families! WMFZ even came out to film this wonderful event for the evening news!
